The Old Log Shed is situated in the Spey Valley in the heart of the Cairngorms National Park, in the Scottish Highlands and only a short distance from Kingussie and Aviemore. The timber chalet is set in a peaceful garden with a backdrop of natural forest stretching into Glenfeshie and the Cairngorms mountains.. The Insh Marshes, a popular spot for bird watching, is accessible from Insh village.
Balbeag - "the little settlement" is a comfortable and well appointed family holiday home set amidst the splendour of the Cairngorm National Park. In its tranquil wooded position on the approach to Glen Feshie the cottage has far reaching views across the Spey Valley. Within these peaceful surroundings it's not unusual to see local wildlife including pine martens, red squirrel and roe deer feeding close by.
Built of pine logs in the traditional "Scandinavian" style, the cottage provides a clean, warm and inviting atmosphere for family and friends alike.

We have an extremely comfortable holiday cottage in the hotel grounds, available for week duration lets (Friday - Friday) all year round. We can offer shorter breaks out of season (please phone for prices).
The cottage sleeps up to six people in three bedrooms and has a modern kitchen, dining room and a spacious lounge with an open fire.
Well behaved pets are welcome in the holiday cottage.

Set in 14 acres of woodlands our site borders the Insh Marshes national nature reserve the second biggest in Europe a haven for plants and wildlife. the site borders an RSPB reserve and looks over the Monadhlaith mountain range and the 700 acre loch with its two islands.
