Granton on Spey is a busy
community lying beside the mighty river Spey. It has ample shops
and restaurants as well as attractions for visitors. The
position of the town allows visitors to visit attractions to the
south including wildlife and nature parks as well as outdoor
centres and mountain parks, but also is a great place to be
based to explore the Speyside whisky trail.
The town itself is almost
completely surrounded by natural woodland with many pleasant
walks and some outstanding bird watching with rare species often
in attendance.
Of course the river Spey
its tributaries and many lochs and lochans in the area give the
anglers plenty of runs to choose from.
The hills and lochsides are
literally teeming with animal and birdlife making this an
important visiting spot for many.
